The Goonies Wordplay

Another play with numbers, words and type. This time I have attempted to tell the plot of my favourite film.

Allison Crane - And he saw me.

And he saw me.

I froze in fright. The only sound was the slow drip of water sliding from my damp hair and splashing on the marble. I cursed internally. I'd made it past all the guards and through the moat, up the secret passage way and into the secured, alarmed room. Then it hit me, there was a mole. He was waiting for me. He knew I'd be there. I blinked noting the smug expression on his face.
"Who was it?" I voiced breaking the icy quiet. He did not respond but merely glanced to his left. I followed his gaze and saw a stiletto sticking out from beneath a curtain.
"Barbie?" I exclaimed exasperated. I knew I shouldn't have trusted that witch! Stomping across the room I pulled back the curtain in rage. Two faces greeted me. Barbie stared straight past me guiltily. The other face was one I recognised but had not expected. Our eyes met and shock made them widened. In a flash I pulled the curtains back across the view hiding the man and Barbie from sight. Looking down I checked myself. Thankfully, despite the surprise of greeting the window cleaner in a bath towel I'd managed to keep my dignity. Breathing a sigh of relief I turned ready to change and threw Ted a dirty look. Smug bear.

Allison Crane- And he fell.

A new series of short stories surrounding the life of Allison Crane. This is installation one, more to follow!

And he fell.

From the look on his face neither of us were expecting it, but I guess most people never do. Despite the speedy ascent we'd made the fall seemed to last an age. His face contorted in confusion, followed by realisation and fear. My hair blew carelessly in front of my face blocking him from view momentarily and for a second I thought I'd imagined the whole ordeal. There was no fall, we were still dancing around the roof top laughing. The contents of my stomach churned as my hair parted. Reality hit me between the eyes. Turning back to the roof top I spilled my guts unable to hold back. I knelt breathlessly waiting to see if there was more to come. Suddenly the door to the roof swung open and a middle aged woman burst through.

"I thought I told you to lie down and rest!" Mum scolded me. Breezing into my bedroom she swiped the duvet from beneath me and told me to clean myself up. Jumping down off the bed I rescued Ted from the stone cold (carpeted) floor and positioned him back on my pillow. Sure, I'm far too old for teddies but everyone needs one when they're sick. Leaving the cold rooftop scene behind I set off on a new adventure to find the secret waterfall of Barth Tomb.
